PRIVATE RESIDENCE
When the next King of Sweden wanted an architectural renaissance he could call his own, he went to France and learned all he could from the Court of Versailles before returning home. Less than a quarter millennia later, our client followed the good king’s footsteps through neo-classical shapes and royal lines before returning to Provo to build her dream home. He was known as Gustav the Third. She is now more than happy to call her Gustavian-inspired residence all her own and Alice Lane was proud to be there.
We could spend page after page on each and every one of the 14,000 elegantly detailed square feet of this home but that’s what the pictures are for. Instead, we’ll breeze past the antiqued bouvet doors, cresting through the entire entrance, and sweeping staircase, appointed in finely-crafted patina rails, until the edges of the walls disappear into alternating hues of enchanted linen. There is no clutter, no unnecessary furniture, even the window benches were sculpted into the house long before it was ever built reminding every visitor that this home began as a feeling and never, ever wavered.
The walls of the massive great room, sun drenched by day, reappear in herringbone behind the fireplace and then again as individually, hand-glazed tile in the kitchen. The light bounces between the chalk-finished Hanna chairs and leaps over the silver-leafed chandelier above the dining table. By night, the relaxed roman window shades surrender and the age-smoked glass of the hanging pendants and mounted sconces flicker of imaginary candlelight. Sometimes the greatest compliment a designer can receive is to never notice they were ever there.

I know this house- it is the home of the “Decor de Provence” blogger. I love it, too- that is why I recognized it. Her blog is well worth checking out- if you love her house, you will love her blog, too.

I love that subway tile! Where can I purchase it?
It is an Ann Sacks tile. There are 21 showrooms around the US but independent stores may carry the product as well. If you are local, in Utah, you can purchase Ann Sacks through Contempo Tile or you can always contact Ann Sacks directly.
One of my clients loves the stair spindles. Do you mind sharing the name of the manufacturer? Thanks…Carol
love the stair rail….builing a house and would love more info on the pieces and parts that make up the beautiful stair rail…..would love for my iron guy to be able to replcaite it….here in the south copying is the best form of flattery!!!!
The homeowner actually had these installed. She showed her railing guy a few concept images and he was able to copy it exactly! He is local here in Utah but I’m sure could work something out with you. His number is (801) 427-4274.
Your design is breathtaking! We are in the early stages of building. I have looked at thousands upon thousands of photos on Houzz & Pinterest. This home (by far) is the most beautiful. Thank you for sharing your amazing work!

Question: what is the tile used in the kitchen? Where is it sold? I love it!!

I love the simple cylinder light over the round table by the kitchen. Can you tell me who makes it? The whole house is just dreamy.
You can purchase that pendant through us! There are two sizes – the small is $1,060 and the large is $1,910. Take advantage of our lighting sale going on now until December 8th to receive 20% off those prices!
Hello,
Love love this home and design! Can you please let me know the color of grey used on all the molding trims? Also the white of the walls? Who makes it and is it something I can pick up at Alice Lane?
Thank you!
Alys
All of this paint is through a Belgian line called Flamant. The owner of the home contacted them and had the paint shipped across seas.
Thank you! I will look them up! Do you know what colors she used?
